Why digital distribution alone did not fix life insurance
A connected market still needs a connected carrier on the other side.
An easier application is not the whole journey.
Digital distribution can help people discover coverage and begin an application. What happens next depends on the insurer: evidence requirements, decisions, documents, administration, and ongoing service. Improving the point of sale alone cannot connect every part of that journey.
Every channel needs continuity.
Consumers, independent producers, agencies, marketplaces, and embedded partners enter through different experiences. They still need a clear view of the same case. Status should not become a different answer in every system, and a customer record should not need to be reconstructed at each handoff.
Design the connection into the carrier.
Lifecor is being built around a shared operating layer for distribution and carrier functions. Our intent is to support different routes to market while preserving continuity through application, underwriting, placement, and service. Distribution is a core part of the company—not an afterthought.
Lifecor is a life insurance company in formation. This perspective describes the operating model we are building toward.
