Why underwriting and distribution should operate on the same data

The same case should carry the same context from submission to decision.

Different views, one record.

A producer needs to know what a client must complete. An underwriter needs reliable evidence and context. Operations needs the approved terms and required authorizations. These are different responsibilities, but they should not require competing versions of the same application.

Context changes the path.

A suitable underwriting path depends on the applicant, product, source of business, and available information. Evidence requirements should follow that context rather than a single checklist applied indiscriminately. Where information is incomplete or an exception arises, the case needs an accountable human review.

Clarity with appropriate boundaries.

A connected record does not mean every participant sees every piece of information. Role-appropriate access matters, especially for sensitive health data. Lifecor’s planned model combines shared case continuity with controlled views, traceable decisions, and carrier oversight.
